Penile cancer is diagnosed with a biopsy. This is when a small sample of tissue is removed fromthe penis and looked at under a microscope. If the cells look, like cancer cells, they will be “staged.” The TNM staging system is the system most often used.
Treatment of Penile Cancer
- Treatment depends on stages
- Surgery is the most common treatment for all stages of penile cancer. Other options include radiation and chemotherapy.
- Topical anti-tumor medication and Chemotherapy.
- Brachytherapy, Carbon dioxide laser, Radiation therapy and Mohs surgery.
- Lymph node dissection, Penectomy, Wide local excision and Laser surgery.
Signs & Symptoms.
- Skin: lumps or ulcers.
- Penile lesion, discharge from wound, or swollen lymph nodes.
