RIRS is endourological procedure where stone in the kidney are reached through ureter using flexible ureteroscope in ureteric access heath.
Suitable for stones less than 2cm. Stones are blasted with holmium / Thulium laser into small fragments or dust and fragments are removed using basket.
General anesthesia is preferred. Sometimes DJ stent is kept for 10-14 days before procedure for ureteric dilatation.
Post procedure stent is kept for 2-3 weeks.
